Firme
Tucked beneath the eaves, Firme is our most photogenic room! She'll will make you feel protected, precious and cared for.
This perfect room, tucked into the roofline with its charming A-frame angles, is long enough for you to capture the bed and gorgeous art display behind it without distorting its proportions. It also has a North facing window so there is no direct sunlight. All of this making it the most photogenic room in all of Saint Augustine. Indeed, it is ideal for, and has been endlessly used by, photographers both amateur and professional and I can't wait to see what you create in there.
Just like in Fiel, the new bathroom is so very pretty and unique as the walk-in shower plays with light and shadow through it's uniquely laid travertine tile.
Trust me, make time for relaxing mornings or chatty nights on your plant-filled balcony. It is my favorite spot on the property.
Traveling with friends? Fiel is the closest room.

Firm Lion
From Josie,
Guarding St. Augustine’s Bridge of Lions, Fiel (Faithful in Latin) and Firme (Firm) are majestic Carrara marble statues. Donated in 1927 by former Mayor Dr. Andrew Anderson II, these exact replicas of Florence's historic Medici Lions have become iconic symbols of the city’s strength and resilience and are the reason this Inn is called Lions and Lanterns.
I can't explain this but the light is different in Firme. When I bought the inn it was the apartment of the men who owned it before me. It was the weirdest room, and had different levels and was mostly one huge closet and housed a gigantic, antiquated air-handler that I replaced with in room units.
I can't tell you how happy I was to tear all of that crap out and make it the gorgeous place of rest and play it is now!
The concrete-topped dry bar was poured in place by my very talented ex-husband/ex-business partner Adam and it makes me happy every time I look at it.
As I said with Fiel, the bathrooms of Fiel and Firme mirror each other and turned out so lovely. So much of my story with this inn is about me having to force my unique ideas on bewildered contractors and these rooms were no different. One contractor said he would not tile the travertine in the bathroom the way I wanted because it would look like it was tiled poorly so I had to find someone who would. I'll let you be the judge of it when you get here.
